Love; Above ALL Love!

Love; Above ALL Love!

I haven’t written earnestly in a little while, and Hey it’s a new day packing with mercy and abundant Grace! Who’s to say this could be my last ever post… (which it won’t be because God has SO MUCH MORE in-store for me) *eeeeexciting stuff* but it it were to be, I want to do it justice like I did in my OG Posts: “Dear Faith, Stand” or “Who Is Like Beyonce/Who Is Like The Lord

Word: Okay let me get straight to the point! I’m here to talk about love. Not the “rom-com/dreamy/princessy” or the thug lovin’ we might be familiar with. Nope! I’m talking about sacrificial love, love that costs! I hope whoever did spread that “love don’t cost a thing” quote around attached a strong disclaimer which reads something along the lines of: Oh but it does, It costs sacrifice even unto death.

True love will cause you to die to yourself, your desires, your self-seeking body, your desires. When you love something/someone it may mean you putting your happiness/comfort aside JUST to see that other person/thing happy-er and truth be told not many people [myself included] are not willing to do needs to stop and it needs to change…

Often I scroll through my twitter feeds (@faithfullyrooky) and the religious debates are on going Islam/Christianity/Buddhism/Judaism and at to my surprise I do not have the appropriate biblical reference to answer some questions and I care about this because when your Faith is put on the line, you 1) need to know what you actually believe in which comes [I believe] only from reading the word for yourself and 2) want to just blast the whole TL with how much your Faith is the truth…

Often I hear and see quotes of different people/scholars/teachers/philosophers, the elite of Insta/Tumblr and I just scoff at the blatant hi-jacks of God’s word, remixed with some “ethical” principles and turned into people’s day-to-day motto -_-  “the things we would know about life and the world only IF we picked up a bible, read it and understood” *she thinks out loud* Today; There was a suggestion of a certain “harmony and tranquillity” in Buddhist teachings.. Which although I’ve never read personally I’m sure they are filled with peace…

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” MORE HERE

The bible is filled with all that and so much more about Money, Finances, Beauty, Relationships, Friendships, Law, Politics, Science, Literature, Mathematics, Fashion, Food Absolutely e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g one of the reasons I am doing a Bible Give-away real real soon.

Anywhoooo… “Love”

What should separate a Christian from any other human being on the planet, religious or not is the Love Factor.. Forget “not drinking/going out/sleeping around/lying/murder” and all these other non-important situations we constantly fall short on, fail miserably to change and let’s focus on the Two Greatest Commandments:

28 One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. 30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ 31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself. No other commandment is greater than these.”

I didn’t say it, Jesus did! You want to know why your breakthrough has not yet come, unanswered prayers, why your ministry is not being fulfilled…

Do you Love people? Despite how they have failed you, despite how they lie and complain, despite your disagreements, despite how bad they’ve treated you or will you live in bitterness and contempt, wishing bad on someone who has long moved on and is busy loving and being loved…

Love is the mirror in which the world see’s God in you – Yours Faithfully

Okay so 2nd year of Uni is done, fin. *lil pat on the back*

And To God Be The Glory for all that and more!

What I’ve Learnt:

  • A LOT more about life, a lot more compared to my actual course content?
  • The masses of people you meet in first year will NOT EXIST by this time
  • A few people you meet in first year are riding it out till the finish line (yipee!)
  • Your flatmates’ friends will ultimately move into the flat whether you like it or not
  • Give and it shall be given.. i.e. feed others and you shall be fed!
  • Your degree is for Y-O-U and you only (revision period thou shalt suffer solo)

What I’ve Achieved:

  • I started Lost For Words
  • I made a solid collection of Suit Jackets in my room which visitors describe as my “shop”
  • I’m much tidier than last year 🙂
  • My fear factor is decreasing by the day

What I regret:

  • “The mistakes I’ve made are dead to me. But I can’t take back the things I never did.”
    ― Jonathan Safran Foer

What I’ve enjoyed:

  • Every single minute of it; the dying, the resurrection, the ascension.
  • Meeting SO MANY different people. This for me was mind-blowing all the different backgrounds and baggage people have, which of course is only unpacked through conversation and plenty off it too!!! Tip: never ever judge a book by it’s cover.

What God Taught Me:

This year has gone by too too quickly, scary but exciting! Soon enough my degree will be a thing of the past, and as I transition and look to better days ahead I am grateful for all the days God has kept me. I am grateful for all the people he has blessed me with, connecting me with the right people, moving this from and for me. I am grateful for the lessons learnt, love lost. I’ve fallen in love with the strangest things, and lost patience with simple people. I study myself a lot, I read a lot more, and I reflect reflect and reflect myself. I’ve finally forgiven myself and I want to make a daily habit of this. I’m training myself not to impose my beliefs on anyone, but subtly encourage them to think about a different way of thinking. I want to make a success story out of [almost] everyone, but I can’t and it’s okay, so i’ll pray for them instead…

Happy Holidays!

wishful thoughts;

wishful thoughts;

wishful thoughts, unspoken most written:

I wish the sunshine never had to set, and everyday was brighter than the last

up, yet, until the day your gaze sets on mine

the brightest day that will be!

i will need no sunshine, you are my sunshine, my only sunshine

the brightest of all stars, on fire with zeal for us

so high, high untouchable not even the leafiest green can exceed

because with every breath i inhale, you lift me, love lifted

For Your Eyes Only!

For Your Eyes Only!

Some things in life, are for your eyes only

Some tears are only for you to cry

Hours of hard work that are for you to put in,

Laughter that only you can express,

Joy that can overwhelm, only you!

No one else can cry for you, work hard for you or be happy for you…

You have to do it for YOURSELF!

Looking at what other people do/don’t do will leaving you feeling inferior and insignificant

Looking at the cross will leave you feeling empowered and enabled, to do great and might exploits.

Who is man that you should give him power to decide the mood you wear?

Like a fragrance, you have to decide the infusion in your sphere of influence,

all the while remembering you will be the most important factor regardless of the outcome.

Because some-things are for your eyes only.

Something About That Place…

Something About That Place…

When you get to that place, THAT PLACE, where there is absolutely no going back.

The only way is ahead, or else you die.

You will literally die, less, you make it…

You can’t go back, won’t go back, don’t want to go back – Yours Faithfully

Quick Word: there is a beauty about anyone’s walk with God, each person’s story is different, unique! Yet, we all a have common pain, cry and voice; That is why the church is describe as the “body” of Christ, all different functions, sizes, abilities but equally as important? Aside, I want to address the point in life where back is no longer an option.

If it where an anecdote: The children of Israel having been enslaved in Egypt for over 400 years, Finally free’d and headed on their way to the promised land…. Past the Nile, into the wilderness….Going back was no longer an option, the wilderness was a misery, the promised land was still a way afar…. And in every journey, you will find yourself where going back is no longer an option, for you have come too too far in your journey to go back, you don’t even know where back is anymore! Behold, you must carry on, carrying on until the death. Make a decision that back no longer exists, pick up the eraser of grace and move on. A race of faith is not one to take lightly: “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Phillippians 3:14

I’ll let these lyrics conclude, “I won’t Go Back – William McDowell”

I’ve been changed Healed Freed Delivered I’ve found joy Peace Grace And favour And right now, right now is the moment Today; Today is the day I’ve been changed I’ve been changed I have waited for this moment to come And I won’t let it pass me by… I won’t go back, can’t go back, to the way it used to be Before your presence; came and changed me I won’t go back, I can’t go back, to the way it used to be Before your presence came and changed me

All my shame Guilt Sins

They’ve been forgiven, Forgiven No more chains Fear My past My past is over

 Is over

Seasons Part Dos; Oh Give Thanks!

Seasons Part Dos; Oh Give Thanks!

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Phillipians 4:6

Foreword: Manners, (most) children are taught them at a young age, to say “Please” and “Thank You.” Most adults don’t practice them?

I do! I practice them everyday! I say please and thank you accordingly, it doesn’t matter WHO you are stranger, or a waiter, or my mother. And I think it’s most important to thank God above all for the little things we take for granted: the ability to read, walk and talk as we please alone is a gift! Humans have become self-idolatrous, believing that we somehow have a “say” in life, we make all the decisions. No you don’t! You are reading this because of grace, you are alive in this season because of grace. “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me” 1st Corinthians 15:10

You wake up, get out of your bed, get dressed for work/school, travel there, stay there, socialise, meet new people, interact, have fun, come back, go to bed and repeat cycle… and not for ONE SECOND whilst doing what you’re doing do you stop and just say “Thank You, God” Well I don’t know about you but I recognise when people don’t say their “thank-you’s”. Not that it will be the death of me but aspects of our character are revealed by the little things we (don’t) say or do. It takes a humility to acknowledge someone’s efforts let alone favour when you don’t deserve it. Some of us go on saying “It’s their job, why should I thank them” WOW! This blows my mind… This proud self-seeking mindset will get you.. erm.. wait.. ABSOLUTELY nothing! and nowhere! in life. You want to own a multi-million company, you want to be a leader, you want to be a CEO yet you can’t even acknowledge the efforts of  diligent servants? YET you want people to leave their houses to come and work for your profit, AS IF!

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

The season of thanksgiving is one of my favourite seasons. When I really take time out to look back at where I’ve been, who I’ve met, the things I have done HOWEVER good/bad/silly/messed-up/disastrous/overwhelming/sinister/ I can conclude it all by just saying “Thank You Jesus!” Nothing, absolutely nothing in my history has ever left me in a position I couldn’t thank God for it, not a single thing. From the situations in my family life, my up-bringing, my education, my friendships, me relationships, my decisions I can honestly say I have “No Regrets” Why? Because 1) I have made a choice to master the art of thanksgiving 2) I believe that “…God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

People that wallow and murmur and complain (just as the Israelites did) are only boxing themselves in. Complaining will not add a dime to your pocket nor a day in your life. If you glass is always half-empty you need to consider your outlook on life because when you think you are at your worst there is always somebody, somewhere worse off! I could list you over 100 reasons I shouldn’t be happy/thankful and of course I have days where I just do-not see the good in a situation, we all do. But I’ve made a decision; to know, that I know, that I know as long as I’ve given God everything in prayer, my next step is to say Thank-You and of course Praise… Pra-what!? P-R-A-I-S-E!! If I can some-up praise in one sentence: My Favourite Part of the Church Service.Praise and Thanksgiving are power twins in the kingdom, when you have something to thank God about, it invokes praise! I just wanna hoot, holla and shout in song and dance because I just get so overwhelmed in saying thank you!!! and I know [by Faith] that everything I thank God for, however small, he will multiply and so will my thanksgiving.

“If you had a child, and you gave her a toy that wasn’t really worth much in the eyes of the other kids BUT they still thanked you for it and they we SO happy AS IF they had the brand-new toys, would you not want to just buy them the top-of-the-range toy next time because you know they valued the small things. How much MORE will they say thank you”

Apply this principal to your life and watch the bigger things come you won’t even have the words to say, and just in case you have nothing to thank God for, I’ll give you two:

1 Chronicles 16:34- Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Psalm 28:7- The LORD is my strength, my shield from every danger. I trust in him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

And if you want to catch up: Seasons Part One “Growing Up, Not Covering Up!”

Property of “DJ Escalade” found in a YouTube description box… Read and Reflect

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many
months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealers showroom,
and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all
he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his
father had purchased the car.. Finally, on the morning of his
graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father
told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how
much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and
found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man’s name embossed
in gold.

Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said,” With all your
money you give me a Bible?” and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father
was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him.He had not seen Him since that graduation day.

But before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling
him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to
his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled
his heart. He began to search through his father’s important papers
and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had
carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11 ,

“And if ye, being evil, know
how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your
Heavenly Father which is in Heaven, give to those who ask Him?”

As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealers name, the same dealer who had the sports
car he had desired.. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the

How many times do we miss God’s blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?
